Meet the Horses

Pony- Nutmeg

Children’s lesson horse: Nutmeg, she is a 11.2 hands high (45 inches tall at the highest point on her back, the withers) Shetland pony. She is 12 years old and has six years of previous Pony Club experiences with children. She has a sweet disposition and is one of our farm favorites. She is primarily used for beginner and intermediate riders for walk/trot, but she does have the ability to jump up to 2′ and is a dynamic little horse.

Pony- Danny

Children’s lesson horse– Danny is 12.1 hands high (48.5 inches tall at the highest point on his back, the withers) Section B Welsh. He is 20 years old and has at 10+years of previous Pony Club experiences with children. He is very sweet and kind with a super smooth trot. He is a lovely jumper and loves to please people. One thing to know about Danny, is he is super competitive and loves to play horse games! Danny is used for beginner-advanced riders. Danny wins lots of show ribbons with a long history of being a 4H and US Pony Club champion.

Pony- Pumpkin

Lesson horse: Pumpkin is 13.1 hands high (52.4 inches tall at the highest point on her back, the withers) Section B Welsh. She is 16 years old and has 6+ years of previous Pony Club experiences with children. She is a gentle sweet little lady that has a quiet smooth canter and she loves to cuddle. She loves to jump and candy canes are her favorite treat. Pumpkin is used in our lessons from beginner-advanced riders.

Horse- Samson

Lesson horse: Samson is 15 hands high (60 inches tall at the highest point on his back, the withers) and is a draught paint horse cross. He is 21 years old and is an advanced beginner to intermediate level horse. Sam is a character with a huge personality. He is very sweet but he is a bit of a clown and will make you laugh a lot. Sam moves out like he has places to go and people to see, he has great energy and loves to please. Sam also loves trail riding and is a favorite when we go horse camping.

We have other horses are on our farm that are not used in our lesson program too.

Horse- Ivy

Ivy stands at 15.1 hands high and is a Polish Arabian. She is super calm and you’ll often see (student) Cuylar jumping her and enjoying her. We have used in her lessons in the past, but are giving her some time off to refresh and rejuvenate as she is recovering from an injury at the moment. She should be back in action again this Spring.

Horse-Rei

Rei is 16 hands high and is a personal favorite of Gael Orr’s, this is her personal horse and never used in lessons. He is a lusitano quarter horse cross. He loves peppermints and he is the first horse to greet you when you enter our barn.
