Certified Equine Appraiser

Gael Orr is a Certified Equine Appraiser through the American Society of Equine Appraisers.

Are you looking to get your horse appraised? Understanding and proving the market value of your horse may be important for a variety of reasons.

Horse Valuation– There are a number of factors that determine the value of your horse.  Your horse’s resume (the job it was trained to do, and how well it does that job) is one of the factors that determines its value, along with conformation, health, bloodlines, state-of-mind, show records, age, and training.

To appraise your horse I get information from you about your horse and look at comparable horses in the marketplace.  I also look at the current economic market conditions.  Please note that, changes in the economy can affect the valuation of your horse.

Appraisals are often used for:

  • Resale Value
  • Divorce
  • Litigation
  • Estate settlements
  • Liquidation
  • Insurance
  • Loan Valuation
  • Donations (IRS requirements-horses worth over $5,000 must have a certified appraisal)
  • Equine death/injuries
  • Tax audits and inquiries
  • Transaction disputes
  • Litigation and consulting services

If you are interested in getting your horse appraised, or have any questions, simply call or send a message through this website on the ‘contact us’ page.
